Enroll University for Bachelor Degree In Netherlands, Who Say It Is Difficult?
Hallo!
Just another post about my process to university. Hope it will be useful for you (high school student especially)!
Alright, my last post is already about my decision to enroll at Netherlands' university. Maybe you will ask why I choose to study in Netherlands instead of Germany. If you already read my last post you will know why I did not choose Germany. However, I chose Netherlands because it is also the destination of students around the world to study (include Indonesia, too). Unfortunately, universities in Netherlands are not free, unlike Germany. But, Netherlands has cheaper fee tuition (than another Europe countries) with good quality of education.
Netherlands has two types of university; Research University and University of Applied Science. They are not that different, but they do have differences.
Step to sign up in Studielink:
I tried to enroll to 6 universities in Netherlands (Twente University, Groningen University, TU Delft, TU Eindhoven, Saxion University of Applied Science, and Fontys University of Applied Science). Beside those universities, just in case there is something bad happen, I enrolled to 2 universities in Australia, too. They are Deakin University and Australia National University, I've got accepted by both of them, but study in Australia is just too pricey. Anyway if you interested to study in Australia, you can contact Alfalink because I got helped by them (my school invited them to school) and Alfalink always invite some university in Australia, Singapore, United States, etc to Semarang or other cities, usually it takes place in hotel.
TADAA! You already have an account to enroll for university in Netherlands!
And what's next?
After you done all the steps, finally it is the final step for you to choose your 'my study programmes'. There will be the options for the university, major, and options for full-time or part-time study. You can see that all after you finish all the steps.
So, that is all the things you need to do to register/enroll to university in Netherlands. After you choose your university and major, the university you choose will email you to send some documents (the documents will determine if you qualified to go to that university or not). The documents are for example copy of your passports, grade list of your score in high school per semester, your score for TOEFL/IELTS (this one should be above or same with the minimum the university required), etc.
If you go abroad, PLEASE, PLEASE AND PLEASE, always check your email. Because it is the most important thing you have to do. You can have information from university(ies) you applied from here. So, please check it daily or hourly!
Finally, it is the end of this post, if you have any question about it, kindly comment below and I will help you!
Thankyou💓

Netherlands has two types of university; Research University and University of Applied Science. They are not that different, but they do have differences.
- Research University is like university in Indonesia (UGM, UI, etc) which is more focused on research and continue to master study. In Netherlands, university is just for 3 years and usually the students continue to study for master degree. Mostly, Dutch people assumed if you go to research university, you are planning to study master degree directly after you finish your bachelor degree. However, you can find a job after your bachelor and not continue directly to master degree--it is all your choice. Many research universities are in top list ranking worldwide, like Delft University of Technology.
- University of Applied Science (UAS) is more like vocational school in Indonesia (we call it polytechnic) but here they are equivalent in degree. UAS is professional university which is focused to make the students ready for job world, they are more practical area of study than research university. Unlike Indonesia who still see vocational school not good (but they are good in reality), here it is same, depends on what will you take, is it better to take it in practical way or theoretical way. UAS takes 4 years to graduate and it is consisted of internship for half a year until one year with company that have relation with the university.
